Laurence Tomson

Laurence Tomson (1539 Northamptonshire29. märts 1608) oli inglise poliitik, kirjamees ja tõlkija. Ta oli Elizabeth I aja Inglismaa riigisekretäri Francis Walsinghami erasekretär. Mary I valitsemisajal oli ta heebrea keele lektor Genfi Ülikoolis.

Tomson redigeeris Uue Testamendi ja Genfi Piibli tekste ja kommentaare. Tema poolt ümbertöötatud väljaanne ilmus 1576. aastal. Tomson oli kalvinist ning tema kommentaarid kajastavad selle teoloogiasüsteemi tõekspidamisi.

Several other editions of Tomson's revision of the Genevan version of the New Testament were published in the whole Bible. It was based on the work of Pierre Loiseleur.[2]
