Jon Kabat-Zinn (2018)

Jon Kabat-Zinn (sündinud 5. juunil 1944 New Yorgis) on arstiteaduse emeriitprofessor USAs.

Ta on rajanud meetodi stressi leevendamiseks (mindfulness-based stress reduction, lühendatult MBSR) ning asutanud Massachusettsi Ülikooli juures vastava kliiniku ja keskuse (Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society).

Kabat-Zinn oli õppinud ja praktiseerinud meditatsiooni ja joogat Thích Nhất Hạnhi[1] ja teiste budistlike õpetajate juures. Ta nägi võimalust ühitada need õpetused teaduslike järeldustega. Tema õpetuste kohaselt võib mindfulness aidata inimestel toime tulla stressi, ärevuse, valu ja haigustega.
