Nurtu manor (Nurms in German ) was a private manor in Vigala parish in Lääne County . Nowadays, the former manor remains in Märjamaa municipality in Rapla county .

In 1788, a glass factory was founded in the Nurtu manor, part of the raw materials was obtained from the company, and part had to be procured from St. Petersburg and Tallinn. In 1805, the manufactory was producing 500 boxes of window glass per year. 20 people worked in the manufactory, among them were 2 foreign masters, 5 free people as employees and 13 serfs. In 1818, the production of window glass had increased considerably, factory was also producing small mirrors. The number of employees had increased to 24, including 7 masters and 17 other workers. In 1826 Nurtu manufactory was closed.[1]
