Boonton on linn Morrise maakonnas New Jerseys Ameerika Ühendriikides. Ameerika Ühendriikide 2020. aasta rahvaloenduse andmetel elas Boontonis 8815 inimest. Asula nimetati aastal 1761 New Jersey kuberneri Thomas Boone'i järgi (algne nimi Boone-Towne).^[2]^[3]

Boontoni linn tekkis 1866. aastal kui liideti osa Hanoverist osaga Pequannockiga. Boonton sai täiesti eraldiseisvaks linnaks aastal 1867.^[4]^[5]^[6]

Linna areng hoogustus 1829. aasta paiku kui kaevati Morrise kanal ning asutati metallitööstus. Linna ajaloolised alad on nüüdseks suures osas 1904. aastal rajatud veehoidla all. Aastal 1908 sai Boontonist tänu veehoidlale esimene Ameerika Ühendriikide linn, mille veevärki klooriti.^[7]
