English: Britain Supplies US Army Store- Americans in Britain, 1943
Corporal H E Hatfield (left, of Route 2 Foxworth, Mississippi) inspects the socks and boots of Staff Sergeant Robert Gillespie (right, of 313 Hellier Street, Pikeville, Kentucky) in a warehouse at an American Army Store, somewhere in Britain. S/Sgt Gillespie is lifting his foot in the air to show off the British socks and re-built boots he is wearing. The socks arrive in huge bales, like the ones on which the men are leaning, and his American boots have been repaired and re-built by British firms. Both items come under the reverse lend-lease or Reciprocal Aid agreement.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
