The Moody Blues (1969)

The Moody Blues oli briti ansambel, mis mängis progressiivset rokki ja sümfoonilist rokki. Bänd oli tuntud oma mitmekesise kõla, orkestriseadete ja filosoofiliste laulutekstide poolest.

Ansambel loodi 1964. aastal Inglismaal Birminghamis. Algkoosseisu kuulusid muusikud Denny Laine, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, Clint Warwick ja Graeme Edge. Esialgu mängis bänd bluusi ja rütmimuusikat, kuid 1967. aastal toimus stiilimuutus, kui koosseisus olid juba Justin Hayward ja John Lodge.

Ansambli suur läbilöök tuli albumiga "Days of Future Passed" (1967), millel kombineeriti rokkmuusikat sümfooniaorkestriga. Albumi tuntuim lugu on "Nights in White Satin", mis saavutas rahvusvahelist edu.

2018. aastal võeti The Moody Bluesi Rock'n'rolli Kuulsuste Halli. Sama aasta kevadel andis ansambel ka oma viimase kontserdi. Pärast seda enam ühiselt ei esinetud. Bändi tegevus lõppes lõplikult pärast trummar Graeme Edge'i surma 2021. aastal. Laulja ja kitarrist Justin Hayward märkis, et see tähistas ansambli loomulikku lõppu. Kuigi mõned liikmed jätkasid soolokarjääriga, ei ole The Moody Blues pärast seda enam koos tegutsenud.
