Arutelu:Inuitid

Selle lehekülje sisule puudub teiste keelte tugi.

Tundub, et nimetust "inuitid" kasutatakse kahes tähenduses: eskimote kohta üldse ja idaeskimote kohta. Selles artiklis on mõeldud eskimoid üldse.

Tundest ei piisa. Usaldusväärset allikat on vaja. --Metsavend 6. märts 2011, kell 02:37 (EET)
Ma ju küsingi nõu. Eesti keelega on asi selge, sellepärast ma liitmismärkuse paningi, aga kui ma õigesti aru saan, siis eskimod ise (ICC) on otsustanud, et neid kõiki tuleb nimetada Inuit. Vaata [1]. Sellepärast ma räägin kahetähenduslikkusest.

TEA entsüklopeedias on "eskimod" inuittide ja jupikite koondnimetus. Andres 6. märts 2011, kell 02:18 (EET)[vasta]

Nii ongi. --Metsavend 6. märts 2011, kell 02:37 (EET)

Eskimod and Inuitid not synonymous[muuda lähteteksti]

Eskimod = Inuitid & Yupikid

Yupikid = in the Siberia and Alaska = included: Siberian Yupik, Central Alaskan Yupik (or Yupik proper), Alutiiq
Inuitid = in the Northern Alaska, Canada and Greenland = included : Inupiaq (in Alaska), Inuktitut and Inuinnaktun-speaking peoples (in the Canada), Greenlanders

Also see Turkish wikipedia tr:Eskimolar. I write the pages of Eskimo peoples and languages on the Turkish Wikipedia. I write Inupiaq Wikipedia (an Alaskan Inuit language ) and Central Alaskan Yup'ik language on the Incubator. Please, the pages Eskimod and Inuitid are not synonymous. Best regards. --Kmoksy 6. märts 2011, kell 03:21 (EET)[vasta]

And my first impression was that en:Eskimo and en:Inuit talked about the same concept because the first sentence includes people in Russia. This follows the definition of ICC and therefore the English wiki is not consistent. Andres 6. märts 2011, kell 07:57 (EET)[vasta]
Iñupiaq People (tr:İnyupikler) and Iñupiaq Language (tr:İnyupikçe) : An Inuit people and language in the Alaska. Only Imaqliq people and own language on the Russian Island Big Diomede (Большой Диомид). The dialect (Big Diomede dialect of Iñupiaq language = Imaklikskii) spoken by the few Inuit remaining in 1948 on Big Diomede Island in the Soviet Union is now extinct. Please see Alaskool.org.The Alaskool.org is authorized for Eskimo-Aleut language in the Alaska State. The "number 1" of the research of the Eskimo-Aleut languages of World. The Eskimo name included Inuit and Yupik branches. The Inuit is not synonymous of Eskimo. The "Inuit = Eskimo" equality by Canadian Nationalists; but, the "equality" is not scientific. In Canada and Greenland, the Natives prefer the word Inuit (The Yupik branch of Eskimo are not lived in Canada and Greenland; only live Inuit branch of Eskimo). As they consider "Eskimo" pejorative, it has fallen out of favour. The name "Inuit" is legal name in the Canada for Eskimo-Aleut speaking peoples. Only in the Canada. But, other countries (including Alaska, USA and Russian Federation) is not "legal name". The name "Eskimo" is included "Inuit" and "Yupik" names.
